The function to change is multiphonon.backward.singlephonon_sqe2dos.update: https://github.com/sns-chops/multiphonon/blob/1f6d097cfd14096cb3cc7cac6167142183d93fbb/multiphonon/backward/singlephonon_sqe2dos.py#L110

Probably give it another name "stitch"?
