Currently, notifications takes you to a listing of all notifications, which includes notifications that were sent. This is consistent with what the messages tab does inside the messages listing, it shows you all messages, including those you sent.
It may not be what we want. In looking this over, it appears that the whole messaging system's user interaction logic is inconsistent and non-obvious in ways we could clean up without too much trouble. This ticket is to serve as a place for that discussion and to remind us that we ought to address these inconsistencies as part of Sprint 5.
