I too, can report that the N1 is working very well with high-res textures and
sound and
stuff, with the kwaak3_test_v11c. release. It only needs some options for
mapping
controls to the screen. And may I suggest using the accelerometer for walking
forward/backwards and left/right strafing.

Btw, you CAN use the volume buttons thanks to the awesome developer -
thunderbird2k.
Here is my (barely) playable set-up:
I am walking on 'volume +', shooting on 'volume -', and using the trackball for
looking
around and jumping...
That's what's working best for me so far :) .

REALLY?!
How so when I go into controls, and try to change 'move'
the volume doesn't register
are you using nexus one?

Oh it works now! I installed the latest release (audio fix one)
Im moving and shooting with trackball
Volume up walks, and volume down jumps..
Im thinking bout making volume down a 'walk bakwards' how useful is jump ..
btw any experience three quick vibrations every now and then and then it slows
down
(the game)

I need to get my hands on a Nexus One here to improve the situation. In general
the
game appears to work but there are all sorts of minor issues which I don't
encounter
on my own phone.

Thunderbird2k, please make an on-screen/ accelerometer based control system so
those
of us with keyboard less devices (nexus one) can enjoy your incredible work!
thank you

Tested on Nexus One..Wow. How incredible..Thank you Thunderbird!
So far i found this to be the perfect keys combo for me..
Volume + = Strafe Left
Volume - = Strafe Right
Trackball = Look around
Trackball Button = Shoot.
I find it better to strafe around rather than walk straight into someone
Nexus one performance though = 80%
There are some slow downs on the single player mode. On some parts of the map
the FPS
drop like crazy.
But the game performs very well on skirmish with 10 bots.
Suggestion:
- Sometimes using the trackball i accidentally slide my finger more it ends up
touching the Home button(I'm sure others have done this on a N1) and goes back
to the
home screen which sucks, especially during an intense game...You can re-open
the game
and it resumes where it left off but when you get back into the game all the
models
and the textures / menus are funky looking so it's useless resuming... Is it
possible
to disable the Home button or something? we already have Back Button as the ESC
button. Perhaps you can put the home button or the menu button to good use
such as
configurable buttons so we can use them to shoot or moving..
Other than that. This is awesome..Best game for PC(Oh yeah I went there.) and
now
best game on Android or any other phone (Oh yes I went there too :D )
Keep this going! Don't let it die!

How do you reassign the volume buttons as strafe?

I'd also like to know as well. How is everyone mapping keys on the nexus one?
Also is it possible to set the trackball as movement?

Got it working great with my Nexus One + Wiimote. If anyone wants to try it,
here's
the mapping I'm using:
walk forward = DPAD right
walk back = DPAD left
look left = DPAD up
look right = DPAD down
look up = + (p)
look down = - (m)
center view = home (h)
shoot = 1
jump = 2
next weapon = A (ctrl)
Can't assign to the trigger as the WiimoteController app makes that the back
button.

Can anyone give me some pointers as how to map the keys? I'm new at this.
I would like to use something like this:
walk forward: volume+
walk backwards: volume-
look around: trackball
shoot: trackball press
change weapons: capacitive menu button (if this is even possible) :)

This seems to have been fixed in Android 2.2 (Froyo) on my Nexus One !

Good that Google fixed it at some point, so marking it as not a Kwaak3 bug.
