How should un-confirmed personnel be represented in data? #22

Applications and Awards for resources for research are often made before the research team is completely confirmed, often due to the need for the resources in order to recruit team members. Having placeholders for team members is likely to be needed in order to get a correct picture of the type of teams involved in applications and awards for resources, but how could these be represented in the Person entity?

Some options to consider include: · One standard name and/or standard identifier for unconfirmed people. · Excluding un-confirmed team members on research applications/projects/awards.

Hey @chrisdangerfield, the Society does use generics for this, e.g., our local ids of PSTDOC (Post-Doctoral Fellow), PSTGRD (Post-Grad Student), SUBCON (Sub-contractor), RSCHAS (Research Assistant), and OTHER. However, my preference would be to omit members that aren't confirmed and update records with real individuals when they're in place.
