The Organisation Project Role codeset includes, among others, “Lead Organisations”, “Sub-recipients” and “End User Collaborators”. Some multi-organisation research contracts conform neatly to this structure with a Lead Organisation contracting further to Sub-recipients and involving in the process End User Collaborators. However, there are some research funding mechanisms that require a “partnership” between two organisations where both benefit from the expertise of the other. An example of this is Te Pūnaha Hihiko: Vision Mātauranga Capability Fund (link active at 31 July 2020). This issue is to investigate whether an additional role needs to be added to reflect this partnership.
