The Associated Award ID element in the Project entity (8.10) has been created to reduce double entry of awards by research organisations. The project entity has been created to reflect the practice that projects may receive multiple awards from different sources. The Associated Award ID element captures identifiers that link to awards that support a particular project; this is a non-mandatory one to many relationship, however the guidance could be altered to reflect this better.
