Interesting, thanks I'll look into this. If your computer is asleep,it shouldn't be connected to the Internet so scrobbling (or streaming music for that matter) shouldn't be working as I don't do any offline scrobble caching. Are you sure your computer isn't just locked or has it's screen turned off? Although in which case, music would still be playing, and you'd probably know.
It scrobbles the same track repeatedly sometimes when I'm out which I have seen appearing on last.fm real time (ie. they are not cached and scrobbled together). I'm pretty sure my computer is asleep during the times it has done this however it may have been awake (PCs a little temperamental), even so if the music was paused it shouldn't scrobble and if it's not paused it shouldn't keep playing/scrobbling the same track.
If scrobble every 7 minutes is enabled and I put my computer to sleep while playing a track it will continue scrobbling every 7 minutes until I wake up the computer. There should be a timeout or keep alive communication to stop this occuring. As my computer is asleep, the extension obviously can't do anything at this point so is it possible to setup the Last.fm connection to do this?
