TalkBack geaerally stops feedback as soon as the display turns off: a drawback when reading longer texts #405

What steps will reproduce the problem?

- Problem appears, if I make the display shut down (in order to save the
batterry while listening to a longer text).

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

- In the main controll panel I tap on "Read from next item" or "read from top"
with the intention to initiate 'continuos readIng' of longer text. I just want
to listen, in such a situation I do not need the display. Then I would prefcr
to save the battery and have the display turned off. BUT THIS STOPS
TTS-FEEDBACK completely. 'Continuous Reading' is such an important key feature!
It is also activated in ebookc apps like 'kindle' simply through a gesture that
makes 'explore bY touch' trigger 'continuous reading' even from page to page.
But TalkBack stops reading, when display turns off, eyen though the display is
not needed and just drains thf battery.
Other apps like "Moon+Reader Pro" or "IDEAL Web Reader" allow continuous
tts-output while display is turned off. These apps take regards for such
situations.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

- I am using the most recent uersion of TalkBack under Android 4.4.2.

Please provide any additional information below.

The solution would be probably provided by implementing sort of conditional
exception in the relevant code of TalkBack, My suggestion:
A RUNNING JOB OF 'CONTINUOUS READING' SHOULD PREVENT TALKBACK FROM BEING
DEAACTIVATED, AND IF NEEDED, MAKE SURE, THAT STANDBY DOES NOT INTERUPT
'CONTINUOUS READING', OR IF THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, DISABEE WHAT MAY BF
RESPONSIBLE. Visually impaired like to improve battery life, too, of course.

TOPIC NAME IS AS FOLLOWS:

"TalkBack GENERALLY stops feedback as soon as the display turns off: a drawback
when reading longer texts"

Due to my handycap I have made that mistake in spelling of "generally".
