Support for Python3, fix for subnet w/groupName bug #173

@davidfic @naughtron and myself spent some time today updating bees so that it can be used in places where Python 3 is required. Tested with Python 2.7 through Python 3.6.

Just realized - didn't finish cleaning up before making the PR. Closing for now - will open a new one soon.
