I also just switch to Android and would love to see that feature \o/
This feature would be especially useful for people who stuck with a camera app, that uses incremental file naming. When I set the Nextcloud app to delete images, then my camera starts incrementing file names from zero again, thus creating colliding names that don't even make sense.
Instead of rename with the date of the upload, I would like to have data of picture taken. And similar to the upload to cloud server option to move to subfolders on my smartphone year/month/taken_date.jpg
It is very strange that this feature is not available on Android. If anything I would have expected the opposite to be true. Regardless, it's a very useful feature and I hope it gets implemented soon.
+1 on this. We switched devices and now our images are pretty bad named.
+1 very useful feature to organize all photos in the same way!
I'm still interested in such feature, would be very nice.
+1 Also coming from dropbox, I would love to be able to rename photos the same as dropbox does.
Describe the solution you'd like
Just like with the IOS app, allow the option for all automatically uploaded photos/videos to be renamed with the date of the upload (2022-04-20-randomnumber.jpg) or something like that. I went from IOS to Android and it was a nice feature that IOS had.
