@MeiRos thanks for the report. Could you provide us with the devcide's logcat/stackTrace of the crash?
My phone is not rooted and also I don't have android development tools installed. (haven't even used it..) I think those are the only ways I can get proper log. Am I right? Do you have a link to a good guide so I can try to set tools up to get a log. I don't want to root my phone.
App's log. (deleted old, tryed upload -> crash, start app and copy log)
Hmm, your log doesn't show any errors. As for a real log, yes you'd need the adb tools, see our README.md :( Unfortunately I can't reproduce the issue since it works fine for my OP3T
Wow, that was easier than I expected. On Windows 10 I used this command "adb logcat | findstr com.nextcloud > logcat.txt" Here's result:
@AndyScherzinger did you read the logcat? Is it helpful? There are errors but I don't understand why.
Crash happens with other directories too. Like Documents on the same level with DCIM. There's only 2 files. And I can succesfully upload pic from DCIM/Screenshots directory. 50 files.
@MeiRos unfortunately I can't find any errors (Java stack trace) in the log you attached :/
Only "warning" I see in the log is
2018/04/30 15:09:01
DrawerActivity : setDrawerMenuItemChecked has been called with invalid menu-item-ID
While I can't say if that leads to a crash especially since the local file list doesn't show a drawer menu so I expect this call to be triggered in another activity.
@tobiasKaminsky @mario any ideas?
This should not be the cause of the crash. I fear that this is (again) TimSort... @MeiRos Can you give us the file listing of the dcim folder?
Or better Documents as these are only 2 files?
At the moment I have 2 directories. Docu and Documents. I moved other file Asiakirja.docx size 0B (no idea what is this actually) to Docu directory. Book.xlsx size 14,67KiB is in the Documents directory. App keeps crashing in both directories when trying to go to the directory. Nextcloud dev has stopped, open app again or Nextcloud dev keeps stopping, close app. The files don't need to be in the same directory. No hidden files. (I can see hidden files in other directories) And this gets even weirder, when scrolling almost all the way down, in the directory where Docu, Documents and DCIM are, app crashes. WhatsApp is the last directory I can see before crash. Write on PDF directory and usb_cam_log.txt file 7KB can not be seen.
3.1.0 no crashes.
Sorting is not working.
@tobiasKaminsky hopefully this helps.
I tryed this with Huawei Y5. Lineageos 14.1 android 7.1.2 Dev 20180427
Tap +, Upload files and swipe down in 0 directory. Wi-Fi directory appears and app crashes. Just before usb_cam_log.txt file should appear. path /storage/emulated/0/usb_cam_log.txt size 556B modified 27.9.2017 22.22 type text/plain hidden no owner root 0 > group everybody 9997 > permissions rwxrwx--- 770 >
Crashes also when entering some directories.
Thanks for helping debugging it :+1: This error should be fixed via https://github.com/nextcloud/android/pull/2549.
