Any update here?
Really this feature should probably be merged into a general solution for syncing arbitrary folders on the Android system (#285 et al). No reason contacts need special treatment.
@Friptick No I think this should be handled as a different issue than #285 et al, since for contacts backup you are not syncing a folder... The only change to the current way of backing up contacts would be that you could define a path.

Sure, changing the storage folder sounds nice. However, I fear this is low on (my) priority list, but if someone submits a PR or wants to work on it, I am happy to help…
Supporting this feature request as well. At least I would find it more appropriate to upload calender and contacts backups to a subfolder like /Backups/.contacts
and /Backups/.calenders
or else /Documents/.contacts
and /Documents/.calenders
instead of cluttering root (see #12235).
One suggestion of how it could look in the UI:
My Nextcloud root directory is not writeable so the app fails to upload the contacts Backup. Please make the path for contacts Backup configurable!
I am running the latest Nextcloud 16.0.1.1 on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. The Nextcloud App is on 3.7.0 RC2 on Android Pie if that is important.
