Add "Start date" field to cards #3146

How to use GitHub

In order to create Gantt charts from Deck's data we would need to have an optional "Start date" field on cards (so that they have both a start and end dates).

What are your thoughts about adding this field?

I'm happy to contribute with a PR.

I vote for keeping a minimal set of fields in the core and rather implement #1833 which will also cover this use case.

Maybe you are interested in starting a PR for that one? 🚀🙂

@stefan-niedermann

Thanks for the quick feedback! I'll answer on the other issue to get a better grasp of the scope of work that's needed.

In addition, for music / theater tour management or other event-related (contracts, vacations, travels...) project planning, it would be very useful to have also a "end date". With theses dates, adding the event in the calendar.

So we can have in the calendar : Due date (eg : "need to be signed/approved") Start and end date of the event (eg : "Start and end date of the defined action")

And a button in the calendar event for go to the related card would be awesome !

Deck is pretty unattractiv without such a basic features.
