⚠️ Before submitting, please verify the following: ⚠️

Bug description

The Client interface became all white since the 3.11 update. I can see the buttons only when hovering the mouse. Same with dark or light modes.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launche Nextcloud desktop
  2. Click on the icon near the clock
  3. The Nextcloud UI shows up but the colors are not normal

Expected behavior

The colors should be the same than the last version.

Seems to be a duplicate of https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/7125.

While it might be a duplicate (but note this report is for Windows, while the other one is for Linux), it should be stressed this issue is not only that Nextcloud “is not respecting the system theme”, the problem is that the Nextcloud window is now unusable, as it is now white-on-white. (I.e. maybe the text color does follow the dark mode, while the background does not?)

VieuFou34 commented 1 month ago

The problem disappeared by itself, no setting changed anywhere. But now I have this thing where left-clicking the icon near the clock doesn't pop up the UI. I have to quit the client and then launch it back for it to work again. Might be some kind of unknown magic ^^

ShockHouse5 commented 1 month ago

@VieuFou34, that is probably related to what we are seeing on #7143, I never thought to quit the client, and restart to see if it would work after that.

I can confirm the workaround. Exit nextcloud, relaunch and then you can see the main dialog again.

Now I have learn no to rush on updates XD

fsesterh commented 1 month ago

Happens too me on Win10/11 as well. Restart of Nextcloud Desktop does NOT solve the bad UI for me.

blinkenlicht commented 1 month ago

same here

DireMunchkin commented 1 month ago

Just FYI as a workaround you can find the last version of desktop, 3.13.4 over here.

scebbers commented 1 month ago

I have exactly the same issue after updating to 3.14.0 (Windows desktop client)

Leocraft1 commented 1 month ago

same with me, the ui just looks like sheet

VieuFou34 commented 1 month ago

I will just add a remember, for me the probleme desappeared by itsel. Maybe a graphic card driver update occured or I don't know but something happened that I don't remember. Just to to says that now the problem doesn't sho up anymore. Hard to say how comes .

Still present here on win 10, even after reboot, with nextcloud client 3.14.1. image

fsesterh commented 1 month ago

Yep, this one is still open even with 3.14.1

rpereyrol commented 1 month ago

The same for me with 3.14.1.

ryanginn commented 2 weeks ago

Same with 3.14.1

tinogithub commented 2 weeks ago

Having the same problem here on Windows 10. Restarting the app didn't change anything.

duplicate of: https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/issues/7269

ryanginn commented 2 weeks ago

Huh, loads fine on Windows 11 dark mode, but not Windows 10. This is very confusing.
