Photo upload only uploads low-res version if iOS "Optimised Storage" is switched on #509

Expected behaviour

Nextcloud should download the full resolution photo from iCloud using the iCloud API and then upload this to the next cloud server.

Actual behaviour

Currently it only creates an archive of the low-res image and uploads this (usually around 700k > 900)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable the option to upload Photos
  2. Select Upload the whole camera roll

iOS version

11.2.5

App version

2.20.2.00001

Server configuration

Operating system: Ubuntu

Web server: Apache

Database: mySQL

PHP version: 7.1

Nextcloud version: (see Nextcloud admin page) 13.0.0

Does it work when named option is off?

rakekniven commented 6 years ago

Btw. Why using iCloud when you have your own cloud?

I don't know about @realtek2017 but I'm migrating from iCloud and OneDrive to NC. My NC app on iOS gives tons of errors about request for images from iCloud failing.

Same issue here.. any news on the subject ?

I have not got optimised storage enabled and only low-resolution photos are uploaded.

Actually, for me, Nextcloud is uploading images of 3264x2448 pixels, which semes correct for an 8 Megapixel camera.

Versions:

iOS Nextcloud App: 2.23.7.9 Nextcloud Server: 16.03 iOS: 12.3.1

It works for me with the full resolution photos, BUT the app freezes completely and crashes sometimes while downloading the iCloud photos!

I have auto upload enabled and when making photos on another iOS device, syncing them with iCloud and auto uploading them with the Nextcloud app on my iPhone, the app freezes until the full res photos are downloaded from iCloud. This is quite annoying when having a lot of new photos. It should show a message or something to let the user know that it‘s downloading
