I would like to use Maps but Restrict it to the Nextcloud Member for only use for own favorites and the content of a specific address-book I share with them.

Add possibility to limit map function to specific category and allow to federate an address-book either to Maps and/or address-book

Maps is one Application you could tick in Nextcloud and start it. most of our User are not Normal People. The actual Maps tool Itself shows many possibilities.

If I use it in Nextcloud I have to get sure to have easy access for my users in the first place. In my Club I wish to use Maps to show our Club Material which is stored by our Members. If a Member wish to use it, he could show where it is actually located. My user has the Problem that the current Maps application gives some kind of feeling for overwhelming by the Possibilities. I prepared an address-book with the address of resources. But that's a bit difficult to handle. It would be way easier If I could limit the Map content to address-book entries with a specific Category and advice to show the content of the note inside the contact as the Describing for the location.

The Idea is to set a reduced Maps for our use, If user wish they may show their own address-book or something else on the map, but the default state should be basic. But I wish to forbid the use of phone tracking or limit it on a specific time so people could use it on Events.

On the other hand I got some skeptic feedback about Data security if all possibility are available. I'm not sure how I'm as admin has the responsibility for the Data from our User share with nextcloud in the case of Mobile phone tracking. We have Data that has some confidentiality because it's user data. Should they got leaked somehow, it's bad but you could live with it because every thing is linked with the Club which is public. In case of Phone-tracking there is another problem. What happens if a Nextcloud got hacked and some people get lifetime Information about some member or is able to get old Data from them?

I have at moment a special limited calendar called publications. If an event is located there A WordPress Plugin get the Events and show them on a Website. The possibility to locate them with the Calendar would be nice. Also we show some event location on the website but here it would be better if I could publish a Map with the embedded address-book with the location and some information from some address-book attributes like the notes.

I concur in that the user should be able to selectively control what gets mapped and what doesn't. Not only is it a potential privacy related issue but strategic user mapping is much more useful than a mapped data blob as it causes the user to have to visually filter out unneeded data that is mapped from a useful visual analysis.
