Auto advance to the next source after mark as read #762

As someone reviewed on Google-Play, it would be nice if the app would jump to the next source if the users finished reading all unread feeds for one source.

Same for me, I am currently using Feedly and go from feed to feed by clicking the button "Mark all articles as read" at the end of each feeds. For me it's too long to click "..." then "Mark all as read" then change feed.

@alxnbl Thank you for the input. I'm wondering if this is still an issue since we have the fast actions available that allows you to mark all items as read with a single touch.

As for the original idea of that ticket: I'm wondering if we should automatically jump to next unread feed after the user marks all items as read using the "fast action" button.

@stefan-niedermann @emasty what's your take on this? I'm not using the mark all as read feature so I'm not sure if this would be helpful.

Sorry, i don't use "Mark all as read"...

From my perspective it unfortunately has two sides to it.

  1. I can definitely see, that the feature provides an advantage if you know what it does and that it is there.
  2. On the other hand I can also see that it would be very confusing if you don't know what happens.

It could be possible to make this feature optional as a setting for the fast action function. It is pretty common for Android devices to have a "detailed settings" feature for switch settings if you press on the text instead of the switch.

In general I think nextcloud news is an app for advanced/pro users so why not put in "pro features" ;)
