The empty content its because it only appear when you scroll down. You can have some javascript code that automatically add a visible class when the initial content is on the viewport.
For to much white space I dont agree with you at all, for a default and more commom resolution 1366x768 you have the above screenshot. Where you clearly can identify that you have more content below without have a huge white area. Maybe the problem you are getting its the same I say on top. The elements are not there when a window is bigger.
Its nice to have comparison's but lets not "copy" if they have a small image its okay to have it, you can have others with bigger images. The important its that the users know that we have more information above that are easy understand right now.
For the tables clearly have some valid points in my first approach I think in a behaviour very similar to this page http://www.apple.com/mac/compare/ you can even compare more detailed one vs another and so on.
So what we should have first its the content we need to show. No matter if are a table or not, it should be abstract. Without the "real" content its difficult to have a "perfect" solution.
If we not do that we are always have problems with adding new things because they are not thinking for that, at this is what makes design break.
What about merged column for functionalities that are used on multiple solutions?

I'm a bit worried that it would make for very wide columns.

We should not do that, this doesnt work in mobile or smaller screens
@oparoz
Just look at your examples in mobile or smaller screens. They dont give any information. They are good examples for desktop but not good examples for mobile.
@Espina2 I did see that. They treat mobile as a second rate citizen and I do prefer the way our page looks on mobile, just not the desktop version.
I'd be happy to have this fixed but I would rate it a very minor issue, to be honest. We have far more pressing issues, like redesigning the rest of the website... which is still in the old look. Eg our Security page or the Features pages or...
We can start with the blog page and article page that I already designed to.
So we're thinking about changing the table to work like this one: http://bootsnipp.com/snippets/featured/responsive-pricing-table
It works both on big screens and on mobile devices.
Can we have an update on that @oparoz @jospoortvliet 😉
Tested in portrait mode
There are a few problems with that new Enterprise page.
Empty content when landing
Too much white space
Looking at the above picture and looking at what a competitor who likes large headers is doing. They're still using a shorter image.
Too much repeating information
Our plans' descriptions have duplicated content.
That makes it difficult to extract useful information and is not what the top players in the field are doing when presenting their enterprise product.

If we want to avoid long columns full of tick boxes for some reason, let's at least take the alternative approach of only mentioning the additional benefits.
