Firefox Quantum: after some time, the extension auto-fill ceases to work #264

I have noticed, that the webextension ceaes to work for auto-completion, or even searching, after Firefux Quantum has been running for some time. While the extension in the menu still works and I can retrieve usernames and passwords from it, the part that auto-fills or searches on actual web pages, does not respond any more.

Steps to reproduce

  1. start FF with passman extension and have it running for some time
  2. use it!
  3. after some, sunspecified time, the extension's dialog on web pages will ceases to function

Expected behaviour

Logins/passwords should be pre-filled In case of more than one site, a dialog for choosing which credential should be displayed

Actual behaviour

Logins/passwords are not filled in automtically anymore clicking on the passman icon brings up the extra dialog, but no interaction is possible

Configuration

Operating system: macOS 10.13.5 (HighSierra)

Browser: Firefox Quantum 62.0a1

Extensions that might cause interference: n/a

Passman version: 2.1.4

Extension version: 2.1.1

Nextcloud version: 13.0.4

Same issue here but all the time !! I can start FF 61 and autofill is already not working for any sites even ones where it was working perfectly in the past !! Problem same on two different computers (one ubuntu 16, other with ubuntu 18 but both FF 61 !). Very boring issue :-1:

Are you sure the extension is unlocked?

@vincegre It turned out in my case, that I had accuired some updated or updated credentials in my vault, which caused the webextension into trouble. Please make sure, that you don't have any credential in your vault, which has the same name as another one. I came across that, when I was toying with passman-ios, which really got confused with that and after I cleaned up my credentials, the webextension started working again.

@budachst What do you mean by same name ? same login field ? or label field ?

It was the label field. However, there's another issue on here, where the op claims that for him the URL field is the culprit. All I can state is, since I have sweeped my vault for duplicate labels, the issue has gone.

@budachst Thanks for the info but I use the same vault on two computers with same Firefox version with same extensions and one exhibit the problem and the other not so I guess problem is not from the vault itself no ?

Hard to tell… if you can reliably reproduce this issue on one host, but not on the other, it might be something different. You could try to create a new profile on each host and only install the Passman webextension and try to reproduce this behaviour on either host.

I am facing that problem on my installation, now the menu on fields is not ready but the button in the toolbar of the extension detect the site without problems. The console.log report that is running: Found 1 logins for this site

Just a screen immagine I have experience on develop browser extension so if there is any suggestions about investigating I can do few tests

Hello, You by chance found solution for this? I encountered same behavior on fresh firefox and passman extension install, extension show found passwords but picker is empty.

No I don't use anymore this app and the extension
