Calender reminder e-mail to contain event start date #14127

Open steff517 opened 5 years ago

steff517 commented 5 years ago

I'm using a shared calendar and setup mail notifications when new events are added. The notification includes the information

As a simple solution, I'd just like to see the event start date and duration of the event in the e-mail. Optional: A direct link to the event which will open the calender with the event in view.

@nickvergessen This is activity related. Does this belong in the server or the activity app repo though?

tcitworld commented 5 years ago

Server, because we need to send more data to the activity app.

steff517 commented 5 years ago

Why did you close it?

georgehrke commented 5 years ago

@steff517 Because this is the wrong repository. Please reopen in https://github.com/nextcloud/server

steff517 commented 5 years ago

@georgehrke Okay, thanks

I would consider this a very useful enhancement as well. Is there anything we can support with?

balli1187 commented 4 years ago

Anything new here? I'm really waiting for this feature as long as i use Nextcloud and would really appreciate this enhancement. Is it such a big deal? Thought it could be quiet easy as time information is already given.

christianlupus commented 4 years ago

I think this is now partly functional: In the notifications of the NC web interface, there seems to be the date. But in the notification emails it is still missing. I just wanted to get this also into focus.

philipp-bananaware commented 3 years ago

My wife is still not very happy because this is still a missing thing. Please add this feature!

FredMa01 commented 3 years ago

It seems to be the same feature wanted : https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/18508

I suppose this is still valid on NC21.0.2?

steff517 commented 3 years ago

Right, it's still open

Hi,

Looks like this topis has no attention while it's significant drawback.

Please look, there is actually nowhere such information and in real life I many time needs to directly ask the person for which day hi has planned the event. But I have been informed... why am I asking...

Here in the web gui - notifications: callendar_issue_1 I can click on it but I'm forwarded to the current month view even if the event is planned for another one. Callendar app is trying to open something but without luck - just spinner is turning around. It looks like another issue.

Here the same in web gui - activities: callendar_issue_2

Here the same in e-mail notification: callendar_issue_3

And the same in desktop client (Linux version 3.4.2).

Good luck if your boss has created some event for the next year.... Can spend an hour for searching, unless you decide to disturb your boss asking for that detail;)

balli1187 commented 2 years ago

I would also like to raise attention again for this feature.

Almost all important information of new events are included in the web notification. Maybe you can explain why it is not possible to add this information in email.
