No option to hide 'Add to a project' sharing feature #16674

Steps to reproduce

  1. There is no option to disable 'add to a project' sharing capability
  2. 'Add to a project' always stays there for users confusing them as it's not straight forward how to create a new project

Expected behaviour

There should be an option in the admin area to completely disable this new feature.

Server configuration

Operating system: Linux x64

Web server: nginx

Database: mysql

PHP version: 7.1

Nextcloud version: 16.0.3

The only solution I've found so far is this: https://help.nextcloud.com/t/how-to-disable-add-to-a-project-solved-by-dirty-workaround/54737/2

But it's a dirty workaround and also considering that there are many options in file sharing, this should be a trivial option to implement.

The admin setting to toggle it should be like this:

Do we have some promo site about projects @jospoortvliet? We could link that or write some more there.

Push! Iam very thankful for the continous development but this feature left 130 Users in my Domain clueless ...

Hi, i use the Nextcloud Version 21.0.4.

How can I hide the "Add to a project" function on Website?

My System:

Ubuntu 20.04 Linux 5.4.0 mysql 10.3.34 PHP 7.4.3

This feature will be reworked as part of https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/28320

There we can also have an admin setting to disable the entire thing.
