Would you mind adding a screenshot to indicate which navigation bar you are talking about? At first I thought you mean the left sidebar, but we use a predefined UI component there and then
This feature is already available in the Nextcloud settings module, and it would be very useful if it could also be implemented in Spreed.
is strange because the settings app uses the same thing. So when something works there it should work for us too already.
Hi @nickvergessen, I would like to apologize for my oversight in not including the necessary screenshots in my previous communication. The image provided above showcases the settings module, where the auto-collapsing navigation bar will function seamlessly and The image located below depicts the Nextcloud Talk module, where it should be noted that the auto-collapsing navigation bar will not be operational.
I have provided a demonstration of the setting module. Please observe that upon clicking the navigation bar, it will be automatically closed.
Ah, so the important bit here is the mobile view. Unluckily that's not a big focus for us, as we recommend to use the native mobile apps there.
The video presented showcases the Nextcloud Talk module, and it is important to note that the navigation bar does not close automatically. As a result, the user is required to manually close it each time, which may present difficulties in usability.
It's the same component and the same behaviour. The big difference is that the settings always do a page refresh and the initial state of the menu is closed, so it feels like it would close on the settings, but in fact also stays open there after clicking.
Dear Nextcloud Support Team,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to request a new feature for the Nextcloud Spreed application.
Currently, when using the Spreed application, I find it difficult to manage the navigation bar, especially when I am selecting participants for a video conference call. I constantly have to close the navigation bar, which can be disruptive to my workflow and takes up valuable time.
Therefore, I would like to suggest implementing an "auto-hide" or "auto-collapsing" feature for the navigation bar in Spreed. This feature is already available in the Nextcloud settings module, and it would be very useful if it could also be implemented in Spreed.
Adding this feature, would significantly improve the user experience of Spreed and make it more convenient and efficient for users to navigate the application.
Thank you for considering my request. I appreciate your efforts in developing and improving the Nextcloud platform, and I look forward to seeing the progress of this application in the future.
