Do not override screen orientation / gyroscope #94

Open skjnldsv opened 6 years ago

skjnldsv commented 6 years ago

I have my screen always set to portrait mode. Nextcloud talk ignore my settings and rotate my screen when I rotate/tilt it.

We should not ignore a user setting. :)

Thanks a lot for your amazing work!! 🤗

Hm? Only on a few screens, in the beginning (account setup), do I lock the screen orientation to portrait - everything else is set to a full sensor and should respect whatever you've set in the system.

Strange, I can't reproduce. Sorry! :/

Hehe, all good! :)

In fact, I just had this issue right after configuring my account. I just installed the 1.1.1 from F-Droid and setup an account from the Nextcloud app (on Oreo).

It does not happen anymore so it seems to be only during the first steps.

I had this issue for the first days with v13.0.0 on a Samsung S10+

One Ul-Version 4.0

Android-Version 12

Google Play-Systemupdate

  1. Januar 2022

Kernel-Version

4.14.113-23326020 # 1 Thu Jan 27 12:16:49 KST 2022

The problem was gone after manually killing the app and starting it again.

mahibi commented 2 years ago

i can't reproduce this. can you confirm this still appears with android talk version >= 14.0.1 @rubo77 ?

rubo77 commented 2 years ago

Yes. The problem still exists with v14:

  1. Go to the Android app settings and delete cache and all data
  2. Log in again
  3. Open the first existing Dialogue
  4. Rotate to landscape.

This will rotate the screen although the global setting is off.

Kill the app and start it again: The problem is gone
