high cpu and gpu consumption even after closing the meeting #763

How to use GitHub

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start a video call, with screen sharing (camera was on on both sides too). I did stop and restart 2 or 3 times the screen sharing during the call. At a moment, my mouse started to slow down and lag a bit, maybe the screen sharing process was already blocked with high cpu and gpu consumption.
  2. Close call, for all participants.

Expected behaviour

Nextcloud talk should use as few cpu and gpu as possible, and stop use it when the call stops.

Actual behaviour

The process is still running and consuming lot of cpu and gpu after closing the call : image

Does it happen for on Web in Chromium browser?

What kind of GPU do you have?

tomdereub commented 2 months ago

GPU : image I didn't test on web browser, I'm using firefox, I can try in it. Do you want that I install chrome on windows to test ? Chromium is just for linux, isn't it ?

Chromium is not for Linux, it is available on any OS and it is the base for Google Chrome.

Could you try to test the same feature in any Chromium-based browser? Microsoft Edge, Chromium, Google Chrome, Opera, Brave or anything else based on chromium.

Hi, I tried with google chrome, no issue (screen sharing and camera). I could reproduce the issue with talk desktop.
