Visualize tags #14

Open Spartachetto opened 5 years ago

I think that it could be really interesting if the viewer could visualize the tags associated to the file under the same file preview.

This was already asked for the gallery app (if you are interested I can look for the issue) and several users were interested.

Thank you

@Spartachetto Thanks for your suggestion :) Sure, feel free to take a look and dig into it !

@skjnldsv I was wrong: I did not manage to find this specific request in the gallery repository.

I found the request to add exif description to the slide-show (https://github.com/nextcloud/gallery/issues/114 ), and the design of it is similar to what I was imagining to show tags: something similar to what you see if you click on the image here (https://twitter.com/AndyScherzinger/status/1098693889945464833 ) and put the cursor on it...

I found several other requests on tags, both Nextcloud ones and EXIF ones:

Nextcloud tags

EXIF tags

I hope this list helps you in the decision of what features to implement. Maybe the tagging action could be evaluated for an inclusion in #15 ...

I did not remember it, but the issue with several thumbs up was opened by me (full disclosure! )

The ability to edit exif meta-data of pictures and sorting and such would make nextcloud photo gallery awesome. hope to see it soon!

@MrChris79 There is an opene issue for that here: https://github.com/nextcloud/gallery/issues/204 https://github.com/nextcloud/server/issues/5106 and https://github.com/gino0631/nextcloud-metadata

Since your suggestion is not really relevant to this repository, I'll suggest you take a look there  :hugs:

This feature will empower Nextcloud to compete with several other (online) photo managing tools. For now the Photo app of Nextcloud is nothing more than, well ... a viewer. While by implementing easy tagging it's usability will be elevated to a photo "manager".

just my 2 cents ...
