Consider adding a QAnon and fascist blocklist #423

Closed rimu closed 1 year ago

rimu commented 4 years ago

With QAnon wreaking havoc in families and fascist fake news everywhere, many people will want to block this kind of content.

Consider adding this blocklist https://github.com/rimu/no-qanon for customers to enable if they wish.

I think there should be a way to add a custom list. This would eliminate most of the requests for adding small lists

Wouldn't that imply a 'bring your own filterlist' policy?

i'm totally for it (normal since i contribute to this list) 👍

+1 for me

This is purely political and probably shouldn't be added unless for example there will be a list proposing to block Antifa and Socialists. Otherwise, this could make NextDNS come off as biased towards the Left-Wing (in terms of American politics) and wouldn't be the best from a business prospective.

mikalauskas is right in saying

as that would be the best solution for you to get the blacklist you want as well as letting everyone choose what they want in terms of blocking. I should also point out that this list blocks legitimate websites not related to what it claims to block and when I proved this to you through your own links you deleted my comment and blocked me from replying. It's a bad look for this list, my issue can be found here.

Keep in mind that I'm not a developer, and this is just my opinion but I believe we should work towards an apolitical NextDNS so we can invite everyone into the world of privacy and security :)

This wouldn't fit in any feature, as it's neither privacy or security-related.
