From this tweet: https://twitter.com/RScheppingen/status/1224652384372215809

Here's how nCoV looks with the Chrome Extension Colorblinding, set to Red-Blind (but Green-blind looks similar, and I understand these two are the most common): image

It's super hard to get colours people can see, even with normal vision. But I wanted to put this up as an issue, in case there are any good suggestions for how to make this better for colour-blind people? As we are getting more and more traffic, this is definitely going to be affecting people.

I'm chatting with Roan to get his thoughts on what might help here. Estimates are ~5% of the population suffer some kind of colourblindness (~8% of men), so I think if there's something not-too-difficult we can maybe incorporate, it might be worth trying out.

At http://colorbrewer2.org you can choose different palettes with different number of categorial/quantitative colorblind safe colors.

Thanks @tolot27 ! This is probably a good starting place for some spectrums :)
