Actually the debian base dockerfile use Node 6, see https://github.com/nexylan/docker-php-dev/blob/f20b1614993fdab32ea182f8a891007667b73c99/base-debian.Dockerfile#L22
NodeJS 6 will be unmaintained in april 2019. Actually the Node LTS version 10 will be started in october 2018. Furthermore a lot of dependencies doesn't support Node 6 and need Node 8.
