[Feature Request] Make available terms searchable / visible #62

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. In a consulting meeting this morning where we introduced Swate, we had a user who would like to be able to search or look through all available terms in "the ontology" (i.e. SwateDB in this case).

Describe the solution you'd like Something similar to OLS. Some kind of visual ontology browser, where you can really scroll and dive through the hierarchy of an ontology.

Additional context Use case: (a) if unsure which of similar / synonymous terms to use, or (b) what alternatives could make sense. Swate's advanced search isn't quite it as it only yields matching terms and doesn't visualize the big picture. Our answer was mostly, if you do not find a term: use free-text and / or request the term at ontology. But I can see that this still could make sense, maybe even in terms of curating the DPBO.

Please bring this up on the next tools meeting, i think this is above the scope of Swate and could be a tool on its own.

Can you perhaps transfer the issue to dpbo? thanks

I agree with the user from the original post that it would be very helpful to see a list of children terms (rather than a tree with labels that are hard to read) for terms with many children, especially as https://www.ebi.ac.uk/ols4/ does not know dbpo.

Since this relates to #76 : So far, all ontologies inside SwateDB are also on the TS4TIB lookup service, with the exception of GO (still WIP), NCBITaxon (too large) and DPBO (WIP). Here, users can browse though ontologies and explore them, or look for specific terms they might not be aware of. We have also collected other ontologies that might be relevant to the DataPLANT community (e.g. PPEO, etc.), as well as microbiologists since we have started working with researchers from this field too. The entire collection of relevant ontologies can be found here: https://terminology.tib.eu/ts/ontologies?collection=DataPLANT&and=false&page=1 . We are currently also planning to link the TS4TIB service to swate, but that is still work in progress

Purls for DPBO terms are now also automatically being generated at a weekly check for new terms.
