- oabdelaziz/SorpSim - original but not maintained
- zhiyaoYang/SorpSim - Zhiyao was involved in the original project and has maintained his repo with multiple updates.
- nfette/SorpSim - forked from oabdelaziz/SorpSim in order to make reliability updates. I made a pull request to oabdelaziz, but it was not merged directly. Zhiyao incorporated the changes by copy/paste without the commit history.
- nfette/sorpsim-opt - cloned from nfette/SorpSim. The project was meant to diverge substantially from SorpSim by decoupling the model from the GUI, but the project was abandoned. The only changes beyond nfette/SorpSim were for compiling on linux and mac.
Apologies for the confusing history stemming from poor usage of git. Regarding the re-write history, I believe this only occurred in the sorpsim-opt repository because I wanted to remove the executable binaries from the repo.
For example: 'Remove big binary files' shows up as nfette/SorpSim commit 6b5d16 and then nfette/sorpsim-opt commit 14b247. It shows the 'former-commit-id' from the original history.

Could anyone clarify history of this project? Not ABSIM, just what is happening in this (and others, which should be forks, but aren't) repository. It seems this repository was hurt by BFG Repo-Cleaner. Why? Is it really necessary to rewrite history? Also, what is zhiyaoYang/SorpSim fork of original oabdelaziz/SorpSim? Seems at some point code was simply copied between repositories, commit history and authorship lost... For now, I'm considering this repository the main one, although project was renamed for unclear purposes. Thank you for clarification.
