Area to Area Conflation #1164

Open bwitham opened 7 years ago

The use case here is conflating non-building polys, marked area=yes. e.g. polygons drawn around a campus of school buildings, a park polygon containing several other polygons (baseball field, tennis courts, etc.)

@bwitham The area features I see most commonly (or only really?) from core VGI team is building areas (MGCP/OSM). I can follow up to get you feedback to other specific area types they have wanted to conflate or other datasets. Hit me up if I can assist with data or anything else related.

Yeah, no problem. I'm moving this set of tasks into backlog and setting it to low priority for now, b/c I've only seen this type of data in one dataset so far. Therefore, maybe not a high priority and no point in doing the work if there is no need for the conflation. BUT in the case we do see more of this data in the future and there is a need to conflate it, I have a good idea how to go about it.
