Updating metadata within the AASG Repository will be underway, work may be done by automated processes or manual spot checking.
Links for resources, especially year 1 deliverable items, need to be double checked. There are items that no longer exist on certain sites, certain sites no longer exist, and hosting of resources may have changed.
Link Names will also be a priority in updating so the user has a better understanding of where they will be redirected to when selecting a link provided.
Spell Checking items will be necessary, much of the metadata did not start off within excel spreadsheets and may have mapped text incorrectly or carried over characters not approved by the repository system.
Keywords will be a higher priority when adding or editing metadata. Time will be spent adding or editing keywords in existing records within the repository. Keywords will make repository items easier to search for and obtain in search.stategeothermaldata.org as well as catalog.stategeothermaldata.org.
Updating should begin within the Metadata Compilation Collections, rather than State Collections. With most metadata deliverable's in and less bulk updating needed for existing compilations, the browse-tree like look up in these individual collections will provide an easier way to keep track of what has been updated as well as navigating separate compilation collections.
