Hand joints number of SMPL-H #40

I would like to ask that why is the joints rendered under SMPL-H mode (pose_body + pose_hand) has number of 52, which consist of body 20 and 16 for each hand, mean while the hand of MANO should be 21. I also notice the 5 missing joints are the end of finger. Is there any misunderstanding? thank you very much.

Is that because one can obtain the finger tip from verts?
