Trakt doesn't push category tags to MyFilms local DB #131

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
Enable Trakt and define Watchlist or user lists and populate them

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
The Watchlist, userdefined lists and recommendations should be pushed as "tags"
into AMC4.x CategoryTrakt DB field - allowing a view that shows that mapping to
the local movie DB.

I have Trakt enabled, and I have Watch lists, but no tags are added to Trakt
Categories using v 2321. So there must be some other step required?

Basically you need the patched tratplugin.dll I posted in testing thread.
Of course, Trakt needs to be enabled and MyFilms selected for syncing.

Updated Trakt Wiki page as much as I could:
http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/17_Extensions/3_Plugins/My_Film
s/3_Using_My_Films/Trakt

BUT using build 2354 with the patche tratkplugin.dll from
__Trakt-TestversionforMyFilms-V6.zip dated Jul 26/2012:
BUT after sync - only one film displays a Trakt Category - WatchList - none of
the films in user-defined lists or recommendations display trakt categories
MF and Trakt logs attached.

There is an exception in trakt plugin:
8/10/2012 11:14:59 AM[Library Sync][11][Info] Processing trakt user list
'Favorites' as tag 'List: Favorites' with '7' items
8/10/2012 11:14:59 AM[Library Sync][11][Error] Error Synchronising library from
'My Films' with error: 'Object reference not set to an instance of an object.'
Thus no other stuff was synced after the one watchlist entry.
Will provide a debug dll woith more logging to get the problem from trakt
handler...

Edit: Just noticed, you were using the very first version - that was known for
that bug and I have posted several versions after that.
Please use Trakt 1.8.1 with MyFilms 6 extension I posted yesterday on wiki page.
If the issue still is there, prease report and I will create a debug version to
find the issue.

Yes with your updated DLL 1.9.7 all seems to work as expected.
I marked Docs done, but will add a screenshot of Trakt Categories view once
Trending is removed from sync

IMO we need to make it clear that it is only supported in trakt v 1.x or later
(once Damien releases it with that fix). Perhaps we need to update Trakt
version number in a few places, such as on the Trakt tab in Setup where we
mention support of Trakt Categories?
