recording these as we go, for later discussion -

note down the way we did farm accounts.

get IT to give us anonymous accounts on HPC with password and keys both
private ssh keys are stored in each account, per account
add account names and passwords to a spreadsheet shared with TAs
send individual e-mails to people (mail merge or 1 by 1, either way)

also note that asking everyone to clone the same git repo at the same time was a mistake - was really slow. revisit that decision 😆

we'll probably run into similar problems when running conda install... might want to do that account by account, or figure out how to do a conda install with a central cache for packages or something.

write some quick docs about how to write and deploy new lessons
go through and replace HTML links with section refs as in https://github.com/ngs-docs/2021-august-remote-computing/commit/44033646913c7f7aa9401e7ccf4a2396ee883826
