User agreement- a bit strong? #1

When the application is launched a modal appears with the word "User agreement" at the top and the button to dismiss the message says "I accept".

Is this actually a user agreement to use the software then? This seems a bit strong. I'm no expert but is it enforceable? Is it compatible with the MIT licence (clearly developers can just fork the code and remove it, but is it compatible with MIT for endusers even?)

Wouldn't this process be better as a reminder or a piece of advice- particularly considering anyone who has access to the data will presumably be bound by their employer contract (as well as relevant legislation)?

Hi Chris,

Apologies for taking so long to notice your comments - hopefully you're still active to see this.

The user agreement is required for our local use in BNSSG. You are correct on all points, and it should have been removed.
