Extend job roles in GPConnect-PractitionerRole-1 valueset

The 2019 GMS Contract and the NHS LTP, has defined the objective for GP Practices to potentially offer physiotherapist & other practitioner (physician associates, social prescribing link workers, first contact practice physiotherapists, first contact community paramedic) appointments going forward.

To align to this, suggest:

• the following SDS Job Roles need to be added to the GP Connect value set GPConnect-PractitionerRole-1, which is a mandatory requirement on the Provider system for GP Connect available appointment slots to be categorised according to Practitioner Role

R0243 | Other Community Health Service - Social Care Worker R1070 | Paramedic R1110 | Physiotherapist R1370 | Practitioner R1440 | Therapist R1540 | Associate Practitioner R1543 | Associate Practitioner - Nurse R1547 | Associate Practitioner - General Practitioner

• the Provider systems need to ensure that the Practitioner Roles assigned to their GP Connect-bookable appointment schedules will support mapping to these values also

Question asked by Providers about using the complete CareConnect SDS Job Role valueset, rather than a subset; being considered @jlellison @DaveBarnet - please don't action until decision

This one is difficult – I can see there are lots of roles that would never be providing appointments from a GP practice.

However there are lots that could potentially in future, particularly given the expanded roles of GP hubs.

I think on balance, to prevent future changes, we should include all of the SDS list in the GP Connect list:

Not ideal, but we’re not using the list for searching, so I don’t think it has too much impact on anyone by including the whole list.

Once we've decided on the list, the following valueset will need updating (with Data Standards):

Also consider whether we want to add an explicit the requirement to populate this field on Search for free slots, as it isn't presently listed.
