Related to and possibly a duplicate of #217
@RichFlick as you opened the issue, please could you check to see if this is a like-for-like duplicate of the #217 issue? If it is, I'll close this and move the detail across š
@danjohnstonUX I see this issue specifically references the profiles editor so, falls into the professional-facing services work that you have been leading on. Do you want to have issues solely for contributions related to professional-facing services and in that case, leave this one open?
Hi Henry, You could as you say keep it for pro facing services but it's also worth bearing in mind that this pattern is for Searching, Filtering AND Sorting. The others, AFAIK, are just filters. No search and no sort.
Hi @henocookie, I think keeping these separate for now sounds like the best approach. As @RichFlick mentioned, the two issues are different enough to warrant having an issue for each š
There is a bigger approach that needs to be discussed though, definitely, around how we approach and differentiate public-facing vs. professional-facing components in the backlog in future. For now, I suggest we keep both public and professional-facing examples localised to one item in our backlog (until we've agreed on an alternative approach) but that this particular issue is different enough to warrant having it's own ticket.
@RichFlick I'm working on a Searching, Filtering AND Sorting design, did you implement the pattern above within the service profiles editor? would be very helpful to know as need to develop something similar for the Learning Hub. Thanks
@knightnaomi I'm no longer with the Profiles team. I worked with @Fenwick17 on this. He might be able to help.

What
We're creating a 'filter & sort' panel for use within the service profiles editor. While doing so we're also considering its use elsewhere in the public facing side of NHSuk. This is for filtering and sorting results pages.
Why
There doesn't seem to be a pattern available yet in the service manual and there are numerous projects currently working on filter designs.
This is needed so profile editors who are responsible for a large number of profiles or comment responders with potentially hundreds of comments to review, can quickly narrow down their search results and find the profile(s) they are looking for.
We have tested the panel in two rounds with around 12+ users and the results were positive.
There are other filter patterns being worked on - more details below.
