Do not use the term ‘clinician’. Patients do not know what a clinician is.

Proposed entry for style guide A to Z, introduced by Dom. 111 online team strongly agreed. Approved at October 2022 Style Council meeting. Still needs clinical approval before publication.

Clinician

Do not use the word "clinician". We've found many patients do not know what a clinician is.

Instead you could use "a doctor, nurse or other healthcare professional", for example.

Action: Agreed to add it to style guide.
