Down's syndrome

We have recently had feedback that it should be written Down syndrome. We checked with the team who wrote our Down's syndrome content. They worked with the Down's Syndrome Association who approved our use of Down's syndrome.

We tested this with people with Down's syndrome, family members and people who support people with Down's syndrome as well as working directly with the charity and no objections were raised.

Our section on formatting and punctuation already mentions Down's syndrome.

We propose adding an entry for Down's syndrome to the A to Z.

Approved a decision to add “Down's syndrome” to the A to Z listing at the July Style Council meeting. Now with the clinicians for approval before publishing the update.
