i'm wondering if the approach here might need to vary depending on where you're signposting someone to
for instance, in the example above, signposting someone from a covid booking service to a flu jab service could be seen as a direct extension of the first service (do more vaccination things right now)
but, if it was something like signposting from a covid booking service to "our future health", that is more like an "oh by the way, while you're here, the NHS does some other things too" advertisement
We (the national booking service) are helping the MECC team to find a way to send users on from the end of one digital journey (Booking confirmation) to the beginning of a new service. The second service would be relevant, but not necessarily related.
For example: promoting our winter health content from the NBS endpoint (some refer to it as "cross-selling", but are we only ever "signposting"?).
The design system doesn't really cover this. We're considering and testing if (related links or feature card might work.
Do we need, and can we use, something more engaging? Or would something 'more engaging' (eg use of pictures) actually have the opposite effect?
One suggestion has been to pose this as a question with radio buttons, i.e.:
Do you want to find out about getting a flu jab? ( ) Yes ( ) No [ Continue ]
Considerations:
Any other thoughts?
