We have found 2 different patterns for 'Use my location'

'Find a pharmacy' has a secondary button beneath the search button:

'111 online' has a button styled as a link after the text input (before the search button):

e-Referral service are also using an extensively tested version of this. Current implementation uses patient postcode by default.

Sooooooo late to the party, but a million years ago we prototyped a way for users to tell us their GP (or find a gp for that matter)

The important findings are really, let people search in a fluid way - the processes of how you might know or find a GP will differ. For example:

• a doctor’s name
• the surgery name
• the place (ie address or portions of it - "oh it's on Main Street in Village") where the surgery is
• your own postcode if your surgery is local or to find nearby surgeries
