Email sent to DHSC for approval.
When you talk to DHSC, you also need to talk to CDDO as to why the NHS Service Standard 11 does not match the UK Government standard.
Hi @TotallyInformation, point 11 in the NHS service standard reflects the GOV standard with a few minor changes to wording that have been recommended by NHS teams.
We do seek approval from the DHSC assurance team for any substantive changes as they own the NHS service standard (we maintain it for them). We're talking with the DHSC team about how we can make sure the NHS service standard supports teams going through service assessments and they're in touch with CDDO. We're also going to be talking with NHSE's Tech and Digital Assurance team about point 11.
Hi @sarawilcox, thanks for your response. I would be grateful if you could involve the TaDA team in those discussions as we are trying to update the guidance we give to people around the mandated controls. From an Assurance perspective, it would probably be rather easier for all if the NHS Service Standard reflected the UK Gov one in the text and then added the additional guidance and standards needed. Otherwise people and programmes really need to read both which is obviously an extra overhead.
TaDA (Technology & Digital Assurance) team contacts are on the Intranet (I don't really want to post the email address here): https://nhs.sharepoint.com/sites/X24_NHSE_TaDA
Many thanks.
PS: We are also talking to Samuel Martin about this as well as leasing with the DHSC D&T Assessment team.
Talk with DHSC team about adding a bullet point to service standard 11.
