Unable to install Garena

Getting this error while attempting to install Garena even though I have lutris ge lol installed in runners.

PS. First time github and linux user, if my application format is wrong or something or if you want any additional data from my computer by running commands in terminal, please let me know.

Hi, sorry for the trouble. This is a Lutris issue, maybe it couldn't find the resources on lutris's side, can you try paste this into a web browser lutris:garena-garena-vn-20-test so lutris can install the unpublished Garena script on lutris ?

If the same issue happen again, you may need to manually download the wine version from here, extract it, and then put the whole extracted folder into ~/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/. And try using the unpublished installer again

If update through Garena didn't work, try downloading LOL manually. The guides are in the front page of this repo :smile:

Installing from client stuck at 89% so I tried downloading manually but the client is not locating the games which is located at C:\Garena\Games\32774. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you.

@redironman5 we recognize the 89% issue, had it happen to me as well

which is also why we have mentioned an alternative install method on the front page, the way works for me.

i am not exactly sure whats causing the issue, but our sample size suggests this is happening to everyone.

may consider looking into this later, but we do have solutions which currently work

no no no the screenshot is from the alternate method of installation. I downloaded the game directly from the website, extracted it, ran the .exe inside wine but the game is not locating the installed files.

This may sounds weird, but try changing the Fuck u garena to something that don't contain space character, and try import the game again

ah no, i reinstalled in a different folder named "garenalol" and it still didnt work. For your reference, this manual installation method actually worked flawlessly before this patch. I've only been experiencing this problem after the new patch release.

Wait how old is the patch again? I havent been on since 3-4 days

The game got patched 2 days ago. I tried to update the game via garena client, but the installer got stuck at 25%. So I decided to uninstall the game and reinstall the game from the website. That's when it couldn't locate the installed game files.

Try changing the wine version to something else, then try manually import the game, then switch back to lutris-lol-ge-2 to play

Garena has a Region selection in settings, did you choose your correct region ?

Lmao i reinstalled for your sake and the stupid game suddenly decided to work. But I didn't use the manual method tho. Installed via garena, let the game install in default location, stuck at 89% for like 10-15 minutes, thought about leaving it overnight to see what happens but after a couple of minutes it fuckin worked. The button changed to 'Play' and i could launch the game. I did absolutely nothing and it worked. Btw I reinstalled couple of times in the past couple of days but it was always the same. Idk what is different now that it decided to work. Anyway thanks for all your help guys.

Maybe Garena fucked up and they silently fix it, anyway no way to know for sure now :sweat_smile:

Yeah i wish we had figured out whats the issue. Now we don't know what caused it and what rectified it. Lol.
