What does this Pull Request accomplish?

We're currently measuring test coverage for files we don't care about, throwing off our code coverage metrics.
The reasons for files being omitted from our coverage metrics are not stated
System test coverage is not reported for our hand-coded fancy functions in session.py

This change addresses all 3 issues.

What testing has been done?

Ran the unit tests locally and observed the reported coverage.
