Try specifying -no_os_gfx on your haloce's shortcut command line (where you
specify -console, -window, etc)

If this is 100% reproducable, reproduce it to make sure it still happens, then
quit Halo, disconnect from the internet and try again.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you guys, I tested disconnecting from
the internet but no dice there, when I get a chance tomorrow I will try the
command line fix

Tested the -no_os_gfx command line fix, not working either, still crashes.

You've used the descriptions "freezes" and "crashes". What did it do when you
used -no_os_gfx, freeze or crash (with or without gathering exception data?)?

Also, what ui.map are you using? Is it the same ui.map from a stock install of
the game?
Are there any other mods that you have installed/use with CE? Anything that
replaces Strings.dll, etc?

When I used the -no_os_gfx, it froze, no exception data, no nothing. I had to
manually restart my computer.
I don't have any mods installed. The ui.map that I am using came with the
Lumoria maps.

You had to manually restart your computer? Which exactly is freezing, Halo, or
your computer?
What happens you launch the game using the stock ui.map?

Sometimes it will freeze while still in the main menu, if it does I can use the
task manager to end the process. The first time I started it after adding the
-no_os_gfx command, I started a game and it froze right there, I could not use
the task manager or anything else. So I had to manually restart the computer. I
just changed the ui.map back to the original and it froze in the main menu. I
was able to end the process this time.

We could do with seeing a crash dump to get more information about this I
think, which you can get using Task Manager as explained here:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/amb/archive/2011/05/12/do-not-collect-32bit-process-dump
s-with-64bit-task-manager.aspx
Note that we need a 32bit crashdump, as noted in that article.
Get a crashdump using that process, archive it and upload it somewhere so we
can have a look.

Hi
I'm running opensauce alongwith HAC. they work together perfectly. THe problem
occurs when a map is to be downloaded.
When we use HAC and opensauce together, HAC is the one which takes over the
custom map downloads and I think opensauce map download feature gets disabled
by default. After downloading the map with no problems, HAC extracts and
installs the map, then while connecting to server again, halo crashes saying
that "map can't be found in /maps directory".
i think opensauce gives this error, bcoz it's the opensauce mapdownload feature
which installs the maps directll into the Halo Custom Edition/maps/ folder,
while HAC extracts the maps in My Documents/My Games/HAC/maps/ folder. So,
since HAC extracts the newly downloaded map to this location, therefore
opensauce can't find the map in Halo CE maps folder and gives this error, in my
opinion
Can you tell me the exact reason why I'm getting this error only when using HAC
with opensauce? and what can be done to fix this.
Thanks.

We do not support using OpenSauce along side ANY other program. Especially
closed source projects.

But I'm sure I read it somewhere that Opensauce 3.1 is fully compatible with
HAC2. Probably it was on xg clan website. So, i decided to give it a try. It's
working fine uptil the map download process, where HAC downloads the maps and
opensauce crashes halo :(

and I've another problem. When I use opensauce on it's own, that is without any
other mod alongside it. Opensauce fails to download the custom maps. It
initiates the map search and then displays the message that "download failed".
What's the reason behind it?. This happens on almost all the Custom maps.

If the maker of HAC2 says it's compatible with OS, then it's on them if they
want to fix compatibility issues and keep that claim. However, we don't have
the time to make OS work with anything other than the (most current version of
the) stock game. We already do enough reverse engineering with it alone, don't
need anything else on our plates ;P
The maps may not be registered or hosted in any of our databases (that we host
or link to). If the server isn't running OS, then there's no other way to serve
the map files. I'll let FS comment on this with anything more, if needed
(seeing as he is the feature's developer)

So, basically there is no way that OS can download a custom map when I'm
playing on a server which isn't run OS?

Unfortunately we don't have the resources to serve every map currently being
played ourselves and the uptake of people wanting to help by hosting master
servers has been seriously underwhelming. OS will try to download from the dedi
first (which would have to be an OS dedi or have a master server spoke setup),
and then try and find the map on a master server if it wasn't available on the
dedi. The system will state that a download failed if it was unable to find
somewhere to download the map from, or if there were issues during the download.
BTW this is a completely different discussion outside of the original bug
report. New issues should be entered as such and general queries should be
posted at www.halomods.com :).
