Photos load slowly

What happened?

• Open a region with many photos
• Scroll down to photos
• On the photos, scroll right fast (Notice how all the photos have loading signs)
• Open one of the photos with loading sign

Ideally the photo is now loaded quickly, however, the loading spinner stays on for quite a while (loading other photos still in the background?)
