I wonder what people think about this: Usually, descriptions that are just text are displayed as normal text without any markup such as line breaks. However, it could be nice to maintain line breaks. Markdown allows such formatting and more. We could run the event descriptions through a markdown renderer and maintain and add certain formattings like:
line breaks
bullet points
What are your thoughts on this one? Should this be configurable for example?
These could be the choices one has:
text - convert description to text, never use alternative HTML description, preserve line breaks
stripped HTML - remove clutter and bad content from HTML, use alternative HTML description if available
stripped HTML + Markdown - render descriptions as markdown and HTML, use alternative HTML description if available
Raw HTML - directly embed the description - use this if you trust the ICS source as much as your website under administrator login
