I have the exact same problem on an Asus Strix RX480 8Gb. 1.8.1.5 seemed to work just fine on AMD Radeon Crimson drivers 17.7.2.

After the NH hack I switched to AMD drivers 17.12. With this setup I tried to use the 1.8.1.5 driver but it did not detect the card. I switched the beta 1.8.x.x driver available, with the same result. Clean installed the NH miner, rebooted, same result.

I'm the 3rd person reporting the issue, running on AMD 17.12 drivers, so please provide a fix for it. This rules out personal miners like me...

I am attaching the debug output of AMDOpenCLDevicedetection.exe debug_all_out_AMD.txt

EDIT: BTW, I believe you should better change the thread title to "AMD 17.12 driver breaks card detection", or something along those lines.

EDIT2: Windows 10 64, 16Gb RAM, RX480 8Gb, NH miner 1.8.1.5 and 18.2.x RC2.

I'd like to also confirm this issue I have MSI Gaming X rx 480and it's not recognizing the GPU.

I have the same issue. My vega shows up just fine but my RX 480 (original edition) doesn't. It was working previously with older divers.

Same issue here! My 1070 works just fine, Ryzen 1700x OK, and the RX480 won't show.
