so an option might be to allow full data, and just paint with a thinner line.
another option would be to show the waveforms 1 up or 2 up, instead of 4 up as current.
perhaps presets to just look at the hpol or just the vpol.
another possibility is to allow some user flexibility. for example, if you glance at my
long winded presentation, you'll see a few slides, for example the trigger details, where
the plot aspect ratios are long and skinny. i was able to do this because the plots were
auto filling the window. by setting my browser window to be short and wide, the display
adapted. i could then cut and paste to my needs for ppt. the same thing sort of works for
the event browser, but i can't get more than a couple of plots to fit in the window.
recommended putting the last two things together... how about, as an option, a 1 up
display with no data decimation, which defaults to 20 short and wide boxes. top 8 are
vpol, next 8 hpol, last 4 surf. allow select radio buttons to include individual chans,
and 3 sets for v,h,surf, which would select subsets automatically. paint the lines thinner
so you can see detail.
